Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Substation Engineer to join our team at Exelon. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for developing studies, plans, and specifications for the planning, design, licensing, construction, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of our electric generation, transmission, distribution, gas, and telecommunication facilities/systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develops and implements projects that have a moderate financial and operational impact.
  • Performs engineering tasks associated with critical engineering projects or a number of small projects with many complex features.
  • Evaluates, develops, and implements projects that have a moderate financial and operational impact.
  • May serve as an expert for the organization in a specific area or responsibility that may include the delivery of classroom training and/or OJT/OJE.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or Licensed Professional Engineer.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret complex electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Knowledge and ability to apply problem-solving approaches and engineering theory.
  • Knowledge of engineering designs, principles, and practices.
  • Knowledge of complex field test equipment.
  • 4-7 years of professional engineering experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Engineering knowledge of electrical substation equipment, including but not limited to, transformers, circuit breakers, switchgear, disconnect switches, and/or instrument transformers.
  • Experience assessing, troubleshooting, and recommending solutions for issues with electrical equipment to assist maintenance personnel.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify equipment and/or procedural improvements to enhance system reliability.
  • Engineering experience working with equipment databases or other asset management databases or programs.

  • Annual salary will vary based on a candidate's skills, qualifications, experience, and other factors: $88,800-$133,200.
