Join our team at Nelson Numeric, Inc. as a Multi-Axis CNC Lathe Operator. In this role, you will be responsible for operating advanced 4 and 6 Axis CNC Lathe machines, specifically Doosan and Nakamura models, to manufacture precision components for the aerospace industry using exotic materials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up, calibrate, and operate various multi-axis and multi-turret CNC Lathe machines within the machining division.
  • Adhere to established setup protocols and suggest enhancements to improve efficiency.
  • Calculate and adjust feeds and speeds to ensure the production of tight tolerance parts across a range of metals, including specialized alloys.
  • Make necessary tool adjustments and replacements to maintain close tolerance machining standards.
  • Interpret and execute CNC code on twin turret lathes equipped with live tooling.
  • Read and comprehend layouts, job packets, and blueprints, including geometric tolerancing for the components being manufactured.
  • Maintain accurate inventory counts and ensure proper storage of parts.

Position Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A 2-year degree in Machining Technology or CNC Machining is preferred, or a minimum of 5 years of experience with multi-turret CNC lathes.
  • Proven ability to read and understand multi-axis CNC programs and layouts is essential.
  • Familiarity with blueprints, measurement techniques, machinist mathematics, tooling, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) is necessary.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, along with problem-solving and mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 40 lbs.

Work Schedule:

  • 2nd Shift: Monday to Thursday, 4 PM to 2:30 AM with a 12% shift premium.

Compensation:

  • Full-time position with a pay rate of $39.00 per hour, based on experience.
