About the Role:

Position: CNC Machinist Set Up Operator

Compensation: $68,000/Year

Location: Minneapolis, MN

Work Schedule: 1st Shift, Monday to Thursday, 6 AM - 4:30 PM with optional overtime.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Conduct all assigned machining operations safely and responsibly.
  2. Efficiently load and unload raw materials into CNC machinery.
  3. Set up and calibrate CNC equipment, which includes:
  • Understanding job specifications and materials to adjust control panel settings for tool travel, axis movement, and tool speeds.
  • Ability to interpret and write basic G and M codes.
  • Recognizing and utilizing inserts, fixtures, and tooling appropriately.
  • Employing gages and measuring instruments to meet precise tolerance standards.
  • Executing tool wear offsets as necessary.
Monitor machine operations and perform troubleshooting, including light maintenance.Interpret blueprints and work orders to execute tasks accurately.Ensure quality control of produced components.Adhere to all quality policies, specifications, regulations, and instructions.Complete and maintain necessary documentation for parts produced.Uphold safety standards by following established safety protocols.Maintain a clean and safe workspace, including regular cleaning of machinery in compliance with all regulations.Contribute to team efforts by undertaking additional tasks as assigned.Qualifications:
  1. Required: High school diploma or GED.
  2. Preferred: Two-year technical degree in Machine Technology or equivalent.
  3. Required: Experience as a CNC Machinist or relevant CNC education.
  4. Preferred: Minimum of 3 years experience in setting up and operating CNC machinery.
  5. Experience with 5-axis milling machines for at least 3 years.
  6. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and production orders.
  7. Maintain accurate records of operations.
  8. Knowledge of tools, equipment, materials, and safe machining practices.
  9. Strong attention to detail and quality assurance.
  10. Mechanical aptitude and mathematical proficiency.
  11. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet production schedules.
  12. Excellent interpersonal skills to foster cooperative working relationships.
Physical Requirements:
  1. Effective communication skills using speech, vision, and hearing.
  2. Ability to stand, sit, and walk for extended periods.
  3. Capability to stoop, crouch, and reach as necessary.
  4. Manual dexterity to grasp, finger, and feel objects.
  5. Occasional repetitive motion tasks.
  6. Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs.
