About the Role:

Position: CNC Machinist Setup Operator

Compensation: $68,000 Annual Salary

Location: Minneapolis, MN

Schedule: 1st Shift, Monday to Thursday, 6 AM - 4:30 PM with optional overtime.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Conduct all assigned machining operations safely and responsibly.
  2. Efficiently load and unload raw materials into CNC machinery.
  3. Set up and calibrate CNC equipment, requiring knowledge of:
  • Job specifications and materials for configuring control panel settings.
  • Understanding and writing basic G and M codes.
  • Recognizing and utilizing inserts, fixtures, and tooling correctly.
  • Employing gauges and measuring instruments to meet tolerance standards.
  • Performing tool wear offsets as needed.
Monitor machine performance and troubleshoot issues, including light maintenance.Interpret blueprints and work orders to execute tasks effectively.Ensure quality control of produced components.Adhere to all quality policies, specifications, and regulations.Complete and maintain necessary documentation for parts produced.Maintain a safe working environment by following established safety protocols.Keep the workspace clean and organized, including regular cleaning of machinery.Contribute to team efforts by performing additional duties as required.Qualifications:
  1. Required: High school diploma or GED.
  2. Preferred: Two-year technical degree in Machine Technology or equivalent.
  3. Required: Experience as a CNC Machinist or relevant education.
  4. Preferred: Minimum of 3 years of experience in setting up and operating CNC machinery.
  5. Experience with 5-axis milling machines is a plus.
  6. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and production orders.
  7. Maintain accurate records of operations.
  8. Knowledge of tools, equipment, materials, and safe machining practices.
  9. Strong attention to detail and quality assurance.
  10. Mechanical aptitude and mathematical skills.
  11. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  12. Excellent interpersonal skills for effective teamwork.
Physical Requirements:
  1. Effective communication using speech, vision, and hearing.
  2. Ability to stand, sit, and walk for extended periods.
  3. Capability to stoop, crouch, and reach as necessary.
  4. Manual dexterity to grasp and manipulate objects.
  5. Occasional repetitive motions.
  6. Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.
