About the Role:

Position: CNC Machinist Set Up Operator

Compensation: $68,000/Year

Location: Minneapolis, MN

Work Schedule: First Shift, Monday to Thursday, 6 AM - 4:30 PM with optional overtime.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Conduct all assigned machining operations safely and responsibly.
  2. Accurately load and unload raw materials into CNC machinery.
  3. Set up and calibrate CNC equipment, requiring knowledge of:
  • Job specifications and materials for control panel settings regarding tool travel, axis movement, and tool speeds.
  • Ability to interpret and write basic G and M codes.
  • Proper use of inserts, fixtures, and tooling.
  • Utilization of gauges and measuring instruments to ensure tolerance compliance.
  • Capability to perform tool wear offsets.
Monitor machine performance and perform troubleshooting as necessary, including light maintenance.Interpret blueprints and work orders to execute tasks effectively.Ensure quality control of produced components.Adhere to all quality policies, specifications, regulations, and guidelines.Complete and maintain necessary documentation for parts.Uphold safety standards by following established safety protocols.Maintain a clean and safe workspace, including regular cleaning of machinery in accordance with all procedures and regulations.Contribute to team efforts by undertaking additional duties as assigned.Desired Qualifications:
  1. Required: High school diploma or GED.
  2. Preferred: Two-year technical degree in Machine Technology or equivalent.
  3. Required: Experience as a CNC Machinist or relevant CNC education.
  4. Preferred: Minimum of 3 years of experience in setting up and operating CNC machinery.
  5. Experience with 5-axis milling machines for at least 3 years.
  6. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and production orders.
  7. Maintain accurate records.
  8. Knowledge of tools, equipment, materials, and safe machining methods.
  9. Strong attention to detail and quality.
  10. Mechanical aptitude.
  11. Mathematical proficiency.
  12. Ability to work independently.
  13. Effective time management skills to meet deadlines.
  14. Strong interpersonal skills for collaborative teamwork.
Physical Requirements:
  1. Effective communication using speech, vision, and hearing.
  2. Ability to stand, sit, and walk for extended periods.
  3. Capability to stoop, crouch, and reach.
  4. Manual dexterity for grasping and feeling.
  5. Occasional repetitive motions.
  6. Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 lbs.
