Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Early Childhood Educator to join our team at The Salvation Army. As a Preschool Teacher, you will play a vital role in shaping the minds and futures of our young students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement engaging and interactive lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs of our students.
  • Establish a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment that promotes social, emotional, and cognitive growth.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure seamless communication and coordination of activities.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, identifying areas of strength and weakness to inform instruction.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student attendance, behavior, and progress.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices and industry standards.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of curriculum and program initiatives.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to families and stakeholders, ensuring a positive and supportive experience.
Requirements
  • Valid Child Development Associate Teacher permit issued by CTC-California Teaching Credential Association.
  • Valid Pediatric/Infant CPR and First Aid certificate/card.
  • Health screening form (LIC503) completed by a physician with TB clearance or risk assessment.
  • Proof of required vaccinations: Pertussis (whooping cough), MMR (measles, mumps, rubella), and influenza (flu).
  • Must pass initial and annual live scan/criminal background checks conducted by Dept. of Justice (DOJ), and by The Salvation Army.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bilingual (Spanish) a plus.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances.
Working Conditions
  • Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis.
  • Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, and reach overhead.
  • Ability to operate computer, laptop, tablets, copier machine, and telephone.
  • Ability to lift up to 45 lbs. repeatedly.
