Job Summary

Crystal Stairs, Inc. is seeking a dedicated and mission-driven Early Childhood Education Coach to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in coaching, mentoring, and developing teachers to improve their ability to assess and understand the children they teach.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide constructive feedback to teaching staff in a supportive, instructive, and non-judgmental manner, enhancing their ability to observe children's activities and experiences as part of the ongoing assessment process.
  • Evaluate classroom quality using the Early Childhood Education Rating Scale (ECERS) and other assessment tools to ensure a high-quality learning environment.
  • Design and implement opportunities for children to use their creative abilities, explore, and experiment with various media through art, music, and drama in all aspects of the program.
  • Maintain a safe, well-organized, and orderly classroom environment, developing a plan to ensure the safety of children while using indoor and outdoor facilities.
  • Conduct regular inspections of facilities to identify hazardous conditions, unsafe equipment, and materials, and follow established emergency exit plans and conduct monthly emergency exit drills.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in early childhood education or child development, or a Bachelor's degree in a related field with 24 ECE coursework units equivalent to a major relating to early childhood education, with experience teaching preschool-age children.
  • Must have or be eligible for a Child Development Permit at the Teacher Level or above, with the permit submitted to Crystal Stairs, Inc. within six months of employment.
  • Must be CLASS certified and maintain certification annually.
Additional Requirements
  • Valid California driver's license, motor vehicle, and evidence of automobile liability insurance.
  • Meet State health requirements, including passing a physical examination as a condition of employment, and provide verification of a TB clearance at the time of employment.
  • CPR and Basic First Aid certificate.
  • Fingerprints on file with the Justice Department.
