About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Estimator to join our team at Pierre Landscape. As a Senior Estimator, you will play a critical role in the success of our commercial landscape construction projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Estimate and Bid Management: Provide accurate and detailed estimates for commercial landscape construction projects, including material take-offs, scope of work, and bid coverage.
  • Project Coordination: Coordinate with project managers, architects, and contractors to ensure that all project requirements are met.
  • Estimate Preparation: Prepare detailed breakdowns of estimates, including labor, materials, and equipment costs.
  • RFI Management: Prepare and submit Requests for Information (RFIs) for projects, ensuring that all necessary information is obtained.
  • Contractual Compliance: Understand and ensure compliance with contractual terms and conditions.
  • Material and Subcontractor Management: Organize and manage material and subcontractor quotations to ensure that they meet contract documents and align with project requirements.
  • Cost Analysis: Analyze and prepare cost analysis reports, including material, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
  • Bid Analysis and Strategy: Analyze and strategize bids, competitors, margin, and bid closure.
  • Budgeting and Accounting: Complete budgeting input in accounting software and maintain accurate financial records.
  • Client and Vendor Relationships: Maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and subcontractors.
  • Documentation and Organization: Ensure that all documentation is clearly organized and maintained in estimating folders for project turnover.
  • Site Visits and Record Keeping: Conduct site visits to record information about access and job logistics to ensure accurate bid.
  • Historical Data and Procedure Management: Accumulate, evaluate, and document historical cost data and construction procedures and methods.
  • Proposal Review and Analysis: Review special proposal requirements with project managers and ensure that all necessary information is obtained.
  • Addendum Control: Maintain addendum control and ensure that all necessary information is obtained.
  • Scope Letter Preparation: Assemble scope letters with qualifications and exclusions for each specific project.
  • Multi-Project Management: Work on multiple projects, perform multi-tasking, and plan for future projects.
  • Value Engineering: Prepare value engineering options and ensure that all bid forms are completed and properly executed.
  • Plan and Spec Review: Review and analyze plans and specs to determine project requirements.
  • Partnership Development: Establish partnerships with owners, contractors, architects, and other stakeholders to gain their cooperation during the bid process.
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Minimum of 5 years in commercial landscape construction estimating or project management.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Landscape Architecture, or Civil Engineering (preferred).
  • Proficiency in computer software programs, including MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook), and On-Screen Take-Off (a plus).
  • Understanding of construction budgeting and job costing.
  • Highly detailed, organized, process-oriented, goal-driven, and focused on results, with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to collaborate and work as part of a team.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, ethics, and integrity.

We offer a competitive salary range of $80,000 - $90,000 per year, dependent on education and experience. Our full-time employee benefits include medical, dental, vision, life, long-term disability insurances, vacation, sick, and holiday paid time off, and 401(k) retirement plan.
