Position Overview:

Become a Key Player in Hydronics: PACE Supply is in Search of a Commercial Estimator (Hybrid)

PACE Supply, a prominent provider of plumbing and water treatment solutions, is on the lookout for a talented Commercial Estimator (Hydronics) to enhance our expanding team.

In this hybrid position, you will have the flexibility to work from various locations and will be instrumental in:

  • Creating precise and competitive proposals for commercial hydronics initiatives.
  • Reviewing project blueprints and specifications to ascertain material and labor needs.
  • Collaborating with sales teams to grasp project requirements and ensure effective proposals.
  • Negotiating with suppliers to obtain optimal pricing for materials.
  • Maintaining extensive knowledge of hydronics products, pricing, and market trends.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Estimation:

  • Deliver quotes and cost assessments for projects.
  • Assist in collecting, calculating, and compiling data for bid proposals.
  • Conduct quantity take-offs and input data into the estimating system.
  • Engage in developing project updates and bid package estimate documents.
  • Maintain records of working documents to support estimating figures.
  • Undertake additional tasks as assigned by the Senior Estimator.

Vendor Relations:

  • Identify qualified suppliers/subcontractors and request quotes.
  • Review quotes with supervisors for completeness and adherence to plans and specifications.
  • Negotiate pricing and terms with vendors.

Client Interactions:

  • Engage with clients to comprehend project specifications.
  • Provide timely and accurate estimates to clients.
  • Address any client inquiries or concerns regarding estimates.

Documentation & Reporting:

  • Maintain precise records of estimates and project specifics.
  • Assist in tracking preliminary estimates against actual cost data.
  • Generate reports as required for management or clients.
  • Regularly update pricing information and databases.

Team Collaboration:

  • Work closely with the Inside Sales team to ensure client needs are fulfilled.
  • Collaborate with other departments to align project requirements.
  • Assist in formulating strategies to enhance estimating processes and efficiency.

Qualifications:

Minimum Experience:

  • A high school diploma (or equivalent) is preferred. A combination of education and experience that equips the necessary skills and knowledge for successful job performance is acceptable.
  • 2 years of office administration experience, preferably in the construction sector.
  • 2 years of experience with commercial hydronic products is essential.
  • Proven ability to manage tasks effectively.
  • Strong emphasis on accuracy in data entry and document management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to collaborate closely with team members and other departments.

Ideal Experience & Skills:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Previous experience in a similar role within the construction or plumbing sector.
  • Familiarity with estimating practices and procedures.
  • Experience in reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications.
  • Understanding of plumbing and finish materials and their applications.
  • Strong computer skills, with experience in construction-related software being advantageous.
