Position Overview

The Creative Marketing Writer embodies the Guild brand across all external communication platforms, including print, digital, video, and social media, distributed nationwide through various retail and corporate channels. This role requires a deep understanding of customer motivations, business partner needs, and sales team perspectives, allowing for the creation of compelling copy that resonates with diverse audiences. The primary responsibility is to assist the Marketing Department in crafting engaging and impactful content for marketing initiatives that align with audience expectations and Guild's core values.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct research and produce promotional marketing materials.
  • Review and refine content to uphold high editorial standards across all outputs.
  • Collaborate with Creative, Product, Marketing, and Compliance Teams to evaluate project requirements and enhance messaging.
  • Comprehend all content delivery specifications and develop comprehensive copy decks.
  • Work alongside management and Content Developers to guide design direction.
  • Establish and implement brand guidelines that reflect Guild's voice.
  • Boost brand visibility across all marketing communications while staying updated on relevant style guidelines and brand voice for consistent messaging.
  • Keep abreast of real estate and finance trends within the mortgage industry.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of innovative marketing campaign concepts.
  • Extract essential information from complex sources and present copy ideas to the internal team as necessary.
  • Review existing marketing materials to identify and implement necessary updates.
  • Maintain organized content calendars.
  • Analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of marketing messaging.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Marketing, Communications, or a related field is required.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in content marketing or copywriting is essential.
  • Experience in financial services, real estate, or the mortgage sector is preferred.
  • Familiarity with compliance and highly regulated industries is advantageous.
  • Exceptional copywriting, editing, and proofreading skills with a keen eye for detail, language, flow, and grammar.
  • Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Creative thinking abilities with the capacity to shift perspectives and conceptualize ideas.
  • Self-driven and capable of working independently with minimal guidance under tight deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications.
  • Technologically adept with a solid understanding of project management, CRM, digital marketing, and marketing distribution tools.
  • Ability to effectively represent the organization to external parties.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Ethical and committed to upholding company values.

Supervision

  • Requires limited supervision.
  • Exhibits a high level of independent judgment and discretion; employs sound judgment in fulfilling core job responsibilities.
  • Travel: 0 - 20%

Work Environment

Primarily sedentary work in a remote setting, with frequent use of a computer keyboard and mouse. Requires the ability to accurately interpret sounds and visual information. No significant exposure to adverse environmental conditions.
