Mechanical Design Expert in Semi-Truck Power Systems

Tesla is seeking a highly skilled electro-mechanical design specialist to join our Semi-Truck Power Electronics Team. As a key member of this team, you will be responsible for designing and developing innovative products and solutions that power all systems on the truck.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering, including design and analysis, as well as experience working with a variety of materials and technologies. Additionally, the candidate should have excellent communication and collaboration skills, as they will work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate designs into vehicles and energy products.

  • Design and develop electro-mechanical parts and assemblies, including plastics, sheet metal, heat sinks, insulation systems, magnetic components, high-voltage connectors, fasteners, and other components
  • Perform mechanical design analysis, including thermal, CFD, structural, design for assembly, and design for test
  • Collaborate with program stakeholders to integrate designs into vehicles, energy products, and more
Requirements
  • 2+ years of experience in mechanical design or a related field OR demonstrated technical excellence in product design & analysis
  • Strong mechanical engineering fundamentals & physics first-principles
  • Strong organization, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of GD&T, tolerance stacks, design for manufacturing/automation/test/reliability (DFM/DFA/DFT/ DFR)
Estimated Salary Range

$104,000 - $174,000 per year, depending on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience
