The Accounting Team

Our Accounting Team is the backbone of Stripe's financial operations, responsible for maintaining a well-controlled environment that supports corporate governance, financial reporting, and disclosure requirements. We're a collaborative and fast-paced team that advises and enables Stripe to grow and succeed.

Job Summary

We're seeking a seasoned Financial Reporting and ESG Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Accounting Team, you'll be responsible for building robust global accounting and reporting processes that meet existing regulatory requirements and evolve with new ones. You'll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to establish processes and ensure compliance with financial reporting and ESG requirements.

Responsibilities
  • Create and implement global accounting policies, including disclosures and estimation methods.
  • Design effective systems, data collection methods, and internal controls to comply with financial reporting and ESG requirements.
  • Collaborate with International Accounting, Regulatory, Legal, Investor Relations, Climate, and other cross-functional teams to establish processes.
  • Stay up-to-date on ESG regulations and prioritize building reporting processes that support Stripe's compliance.
  • Engage and manage accounting firms for assurance services, as needed.
Requirements
  • 10+ years of experience in financial reporting and ESG compliance.
  • Expertise in U.S. GAAP and financial reporting requirements (CPA preferred).
  • Understanding of internal control structures.
  • Proven track record of thought leadership in evolving areas.
  • Detail-orientation with a rigorous approach to delivering high-quality work.
  • Ability to collaborate and influence across diverse groups and levels.
  • Familiarity with existing global ESG regulatory requirements.
