Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Software Engineer to join our Consumer and Community Banking Web Channel team at JPMorgan Chase. As a key member of our agile team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of software delivery lifecycle and activities, with experience in coding, designing, and testing in a heterogeneous technology environment. You will also have expertise in building APIs, ensuring quality and completeness of the product, and executing creative software solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop software solutions that meet business requirements and technical standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize technical requirements.
  • Develop and maintain high-quality code, ensuring it is secure, stable, and scalable.
  • Lead evaluation sessions with external vendors and internal teams to drive outcomes-oriented probing of architectural designs and technical credentials.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design documents, technical specifications, and user guides.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, and apply this knowledge to improve our software development processes and tools.
Requirements
  • Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
  • Excellent understanding of development concepts and SDLC methodologies, with experience in Agile and strong knowledge of JavaScript, Java, and Web Frameworks.
  • Good experience in Single Page App development using ReactJS, Virtual DOM, Component life cycle, JSX, React Route, TypeScript, and ReactJS ecosystem.
  • Good experience in customizing CSS frameworks like Bootstrap and Foundation using CSS pre-processors LESS or SASS.
  • Good experience in AXIOS or other promise-based HTTP client to fetch data, RESTful, web services to integrate between Application to Application, GraphQL, Node environment using Node.js, NPM, Git, Webpack, and other open-source build tools.
  • Good experience in writing unit tests of complex components using Jest or React Testing Library, Component tests using Cyprus and other mocking tools.
  • Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
  • Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods.
  • Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle.
  • Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Applicant Resiliency, and Security.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with modern front-end technologies.
  • Experience working with Amazon Web Services (AWS) including entitlement and IAM policy.
  • Experience working with AWS Databases.
  • Working knowledge of Docker/Kubernetes/EKS/GCP is a strong plus.
