Position Overview
This role is designed for a Training Coordinator within the Institute of Child Nutrition at a public university.

Class Definition

This position is responsible for organizing and facilitating workshops and training initiatives nationwide, focusing on child nutrition and early childhood education.

The incumbent will handle training requests, assess the necessary trainers and resources to fulfill these requests, identify contractual considerations, oversee training budgets, orient trainers, arrange travel and logistical details for training sessions, evaluate training effectiveness, and provide recommendations for future training opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess the needs of child nutrition professionals and align them with the expertise of available trainers.
  • Request quotes from expert consultants for conducting training sessions for child nutrition professionals.
  • Advise on required training materials, select the most suitable trainers, and outline associated costs.
  • Identify contractual considerations and manage travel arrangements for trainers, as well as the venue for training.
  • Select, compile, and distribute training materials.
  • Ensure timely payment to training consultants and reconcile the training budget.
  • Maintain a comprehensive database of trainers, including evaluation data to assist in selecting appropriate trainers.
  • Track training participants and the materials utilized in their training.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with training consultants.
  • Act as an ambassador for the Institute of Child Nutrition, representing the organization at state and national workshops or trade shows to promote training services.
  • Provide training and orientation for external consultants and project coordinators on policies, adult learning techniques, and technology handling.
  • Manage training budgets by accurately assigning project expenditures.
  • Assist in the development of training budgets by analyzing spending patterns and offering insights.
  • Monitor training sessions and provide feedback on consultant performance, making recommendations for improvement.
  • Collect and analyze participant evaluations of trainer performance, summarizing findings for review.
  • Perform related duties as required.
Essential Functions

The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Identifying the needs of child nutrition professionals and matching them with expert capabilities.
  • Building relationships with consultants and maintaining an updated trainer database.
  • Overseeing training budgets and assisting in their development.
  • Conducting training and orientation sessions for external consultants and project coordinators.
Minimum Qualifications

Education:
A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year institution.

Experience:
A minimum of three years of relevant experience in a related field.
