Position Summary:

The Director of Finance oversees the comprehensive financial management, strategic planning, and budgeting of the organization. This role demands strategic insight and proactive leadership to manage financial operations, ensure sustainable financial health, and support the company's growth ambitions. The Director of Finance will work closely with senior leadership and play a pivotal role in shaping the financial strategy of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Strategy and Planning:
    • Formulate and execute the company's financial strategy to align with its business objectives and growth plans.
    • Lead the annual budgeting process, encompassing long-term financial planning and forecasting.
    • Provide financial insights and recommendations to the executive team to inform decision-making.
    • Evaluate and manage financial risks and opportunities for the organization.
  2. Financial Management:
    • Supervise all financial operations, including accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
    • Ensure precise and timely preparation of financial statements in compliance with GAAP/IFRS.
    • Monitor financial performance against budgets and forecasts, identifying trends and recommending improvements.
    • Manage the company's capital structure, including equity and cash management.
  3. Business Analysis and Reporting:
    • Examine financial data to pinpoint key drivers of business performance and areas for enhancement.
    • Prepare and present comprehensive financial reports to the executive team and other stakeholders.
    • Lead financial modeling and analysis for new business initiatives, mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic ventures.
  4. Compliance and Risk Management:
    • Ensure adherence to all financial regulations, tax laws, and reporting obligations.
    • Oversee the establishment and maintenance of internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the accuracy of financial information.
    • Coordinate with external auditors to guarantee timely and accurate completion of audits and financial reviews.
  5. Leadership and Team Development:
    • Guide, mentor, and develop the finance and accounting teams, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
    • Provide direction and support to ensure the team's success in achieving departmental and organizational objectives.
    • Collaborate with HR and other departments to enhance financial literacy across the organization.
  6. Cost Management and Efficiency:
    • Identify opportunities to optimize costs and enhance efficiency throughout the organization.
    • Implement financial systems, processes, and controls to improve operational efficiency and support the company's growth.
    • Evaluate and manage vendor relationships to ensure cost-effective procurement of goods and services.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. An MBA or advanced degree in finance is preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in finance or accounting, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. Experience in a similar industry is a plus.
  • Certifications: CPA (Certified Public Accountant), CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst), or similar financial certifications are highly desirable.
  • Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in financial management software and advanced Excel skills. Experience with financial modeling and analysis tools is essential.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven track record of leading and developing high-performing teams. Ability to inspire and motivate others to achieve organizational goals.
  • Strategic Thinking: Strong strategic and analytical thinking skills, with the ability to translate financial data into actionable insights.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Ethical Standards: High level of integrity and commitment to ethical financial management. Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on achieving positive outcomes.

Working Conditions:

  • Work Environment: Office setting with occasional extended hours during peak periods (e.g., budgeting cycles, year-end close).
