Job Overview

We are seeking a Junior SETA Engineer to provide onsite support out of Arlington, VA, for the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA). This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a team of experienced military, technical, and operations research analysts who specialize in evaluating military problems, identifying driving factors, devising innovative approaches, collecting applicable data, developing necessary software tools, and performing thorough and timely assessments.

About the Role

This position involves applying a strong technical background and a proactive attitude in support of DARPA. The ideal candidate will be motivated to learn DARPA process, procedures, and culture, passionate about advanced R&D, and have strong communications and presentation skills. Key responsibilities include:

  • SUPPORTING PERIODIC PERFORMER ASSESSMENTS TO ANALYZE PROGRAMMATIC, TECHNICAL, AND SCHEDULE RISKS;
  • ASSISTING IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF RISK MITIGATION STRATEGIES;
  • CORRECTING DOCUMENTS FOR TECHNICAL PMs, BUSINESS OPERATIONS PERSONNEL, LEGAL AND CONTRACTUAL PERSONNEL, AND ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT STAFF;
  • COMMUNICATING CLEARLY AND EFFECTIVELY COMPLEX ISSUES VERBALLY AND IN WRITING FOR SENIOR EXECUTIVE AUDIENCES.

About You

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in an Engineering or Science discipline;
  • An active DoD Secret clearance and eligibility for TS/SCI;
  • Interest in technology management, with technical skills to understand engineering challenges inherent to research efforts;
  • Strong organization and communication skills, particularly in briefing preparation to present complex technology to senior leadership;
  • Ability to work in a team environment;
  • 100% availability to work on-site in Arlington, VA.

Earn up to $83,000 per year
