Job Description

The Science and Technology Protection Specialist provides program protection support to DoD acquisition, science & technology, RDT&E, and prototyping programs. This role is responsible for developing critical program protection strategies for existing and new DARPA programs, including analysis, product development, and other activities designed to ensure comprehensive, consistent protection strategies are incorporated into the planning and execution of technology programs across the DARPA enterprise.



Key Responsibilities

  • Articulate, create, develop, coordinate, and manage program protection strategies to support DARPA Programs in technology thrust areas.
  • Work closely with Technical Office PMs, their SETA staffs, PSOs, PSRs, and external mission partner personnel to develop and maintain currency of Critical Information Lists (CILs) for DARPA and its programs.
  • Identify critical program information/capabilities in DARPA programs and threats to DARPA technology thrust areas.
  • Develop innovative and proactive analytical methodologies to refine existing program protection analytical methodologies and meet evolving program needs.
  • Review organizational mission statements and associated publicly available technology program information for inconsistencies that may reveal sensitive information.
  • Document the complete OPSEC process in program-specific OPSEC plans and maintain contact with Interagency OPSEC Support Staff (IOSS) to develop or import appropriate OPSEC awareness products and training materials.
  • Work with SID staff to coordinate the execution of an annual OPSEC Assessment of DARPA and ensure that the Overarching DARPA Operations Security Plan is periodically monitored and updated to retain currency.


Requirements

  • Minimum of active Top Secret (TS) clearance, with TS/SCI strongly desired.
  • 12 years of qualifying, related experience or an Associate degree with 15 years qualifying, related experience.
  • At least 8 years of experience dedicated to S&T, RDT&E in support of unclassified, collateral, SAP, and SCI programs.
  • Completion of Interagency OPSEC Support Staff OPSEC Fundamentals courses.
