Job Title: Machine Shop Helper

Janicki Industries is a leading aerospace company seeking a skilled Machine Shop Helper to join our team. As a Machine Shop Helper, you will play a vital role in supporting our manufacturing operations, ensuring the efficient production of complex aerospace components.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist machinists in performing various tasks, including reading and writing in English, basic math, and following supervisor instructions.
  • Operate equipment such as horizontal band saws, drill presses, waterjets, robotic welders, forklifts, overhead cranes, and pallet jacks.
  • Clean metal and plastic parts, deburr parts as needed, and perform light assembly.
  • Contribute to shop cleaning and organization, pre-kit tooling for jobs, and inventory cutting tools and assist with stocking.
  • Receive and carry out directions from designated supervisors and production leads, ensuring compliance with safety practices.
  • Identify and obtain equipment, tools, and materials needed to perform job functions, execute hazardous material disposal activities, and maintain a clean and orderly work area.
  • Participate in on-the-job training, AS9100 training, and other required training to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Work in other cells to support production as required, such as assembly or mill cells, and perform other duties as assigned.
  • Meet deadlines, work well under pressure, and demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues and supervisors.
  • Attend work on time and maintain good attendance, as this is an essential function of the job.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED required; college-level or trade school education preferred.
  • One or more years of experience in a related field may be substituted for education.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills in the English language.
