POSITION SUMMARY:

The primary objective of this role is to safeguard the health of patients at Harmons' pharmacies by ensuring the accurate dispensing of medications and offering comprehensive information regarding their use. Responsibilities include filling and verifying prescriptions, providing patient counseling, collaborating with healthcare professionals, administering vaccines, and delivering outstanding customer service.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Adheres to established policies and procedures within the department and store.
  • Maintains a clean, organized, and compliant pharmacy environment.
  • Provides exceptional customer service at the pharmacy counter, drive-thru, and via phone.
  • Accurately fills and verifies prescriptions.
  • Identifies potential drug interactions.
  • Engages with healthcare professionals regarding prescription matters.
  • Offers guidance to patients about their medications, potential interactions, and over-the-counter alternatives.
  • Administers immunizations as required.
  • Prepares documentation for internal and external audits.
  • Inputs new prescriptions into the pharmacy system.
  • Organizes and files prescription documentation.
  • Processes refill requests with healthcare providers.
  • Handles insurance claims and resolves related issues.
  • Receives and organizes pharmaceutical products.
  • Ensures products are removed from shelves according to expiration policies.
  • Completes assigned tasks efficiently and promptly.
  • Exemplifies professionalism and positivity to colleagues.
  • Mentors and educates pharmacy interns and technicians.
  • Provides constructive feedback to pharmacy interns and technicians.
  • Collaborates closely with the Pharmacy Manager.
  • Ensures compliance with safety, sanitation, and productivity standards.
  • Must be fully vaccinated against Coronavirus (COVID-19).
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performs other related duties as assigned.

WORK CONTACTS:
  • Regular interaction with store associates.
  • Frequent communication with customers.
  • Daily engagement with healthcare providers and insurance representatives.
TRAINING & QUALIFICATIONS:

To excel in this position, candidates must demonstrate proficiency in essential duties. The following qualifications are preferred:
  • Current Utah Pharmacist License, Controlled Substance license, and CPR certification.
  • In-depth knowledge of prescription medications and their interactions.
  • Ability to administer immunizations correctly.
  • Familiarity with pharmacy regulations and dispensing laws.
  • Strong multitasking abilities.
  • Advanced understanding of medical and pharmaceutical terminology.
  • Basic math and computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to interpret policies and procedures effectively.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and listening, to interact with diverse groups.
  • Capability to manage conflicts professionally.
  • Willingness to accept constructive feedback and take accountability for personal and team success.
  • Ability to make informed decisions using analytical skills.

  • Availability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

This role typically occurs in a safe and comfortable pharmacy setting, with occasional exposure to varying temperatures and conditions. Responsibilities require regular physical activity, including standing, walking, and lifting objects up to 30 pounds.
