This position involves filling and verifying medication orders, providing patient consultations, collaborating with healthcare professionals, administering vaccinations, and delivering outstanding customer service.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Adhere to established pharmacy protocols and company policies.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-functioning pharmacy environment that aligns with company standards.
- Provide exceptional customer service at the pharmacy counter, drive-thru, and via telephone.
- Accurately fill and verify medication orders.
- Engage with healthcare providers concerning prescriptions.
- Advise patients on their medications, potential interactions, and recommend over-the-counter solutions.
- Administer immunizations as required.
- Facilitate internal and external audits by providing necessary information.
- Input new prescriptions into the pharmacy system.
- Process refill requests through direct communication with physicians.
- Handle insurance claims and resolve any related issues.
- Receive and stock pharmacy products efficiently.
- Ensure proper removal of expired products in accordance with company policies.
- Complete assigned tasks promptly and efficiently.
- Serve as a professional role model for pharmacy interns and technicians.
- Provide constructive feedback to pharmacy interns and technicians regarding their performance.
- Collaborate closely with the Pharmacy Manager to ensure operational efficiency.
- Uphold company standards for safety, cleanliness, and productivity.
- Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES:
Perform other job-related tasks as assigned.
WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:
Engage in daily interactions with store associates, customers, healthcare providers, and insurance representatives.
QUALIFICATIONS:
To excel in this role, candidates must demonstrate the ability to fulfill essential duties effectively. The following qualifications are preferred:
- Current Pharmacist License and Controlled Substance license.
- CPR certification.
- In-depth knowledge of prescription medications and their interactions.
- Proficiency in administering immunizations.
- Understanding of pharmacy laws and dispensing regulations.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and pharmacy practices.
- Basic mathematical and computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Strong organizational and planning capabilities.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to manage conflicts professionally.
- Willingness to accept feedback and be accountable for personal and team success.
- Capacity to make informed decisions using analytical skills.
- Integrity, a positive attitude, and a commitment to the mission of Harmons Grocery.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This role is typically performed in a safe and comfortable pharmacy setting, with occasional exposure to varying temperatures and conditions. The position requires regular physical activity, including standing, walking, and lifting items up to 30 pounds.
