Job Summary

The Retail Dining Manager is responsible for the successful retail cafeteria operation of Food & Nutrition Services at a hospital. They will lead a team of 25 associates.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the retail dining cafe operations under direction of the Sr. Director of Dining Services
  • Plan and supervise special functions, maintain cash controls, payroll records, and lead all aspects of the hiring, training, and scheduling of our hourly team members
  • Evaluate customer satisfaction and good public relations through efficient use of resources
  • Direct staff to provide scheduled retail services in accordance with corporate policies and presentation standards
  • Train staff in customer service, accurate portioning, cashier skills, and safety/sanitation
  • Submit timely reports on daily, weekly, or monthly operations
  • Maintain effective communication with all associates, clients, and customers/guests
  • Implement and maintain company cash handling standards to prevent theft of services or Company funds
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Three years of food service management experience preferably in a high-volume retail dining operation
  • Experience working in a hospital or related healthcare environment
  • Good knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, marketing, and presentation
  • P&L accountability and contract-managed service experience
  • Experience with cash retail operations
  • Retail marketing experience
  • Leadership, management, and coaching skills
  • Effective communication skills both written and verbal with various levels to include management, customer, and associate levels
  • Knowledge of financial, budgetary, accounting, and computational practices
  • Proficient computer skills and knowledge of MS Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and internet
