Patient Access Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Access Specialist to join our team at Novant Health. As a key member of our revenue cycle team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient registration services, ensuring accurate and timely processing of patient information, and maintaining compliance with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities- Provide registration services for patients in various hospital entry points, including the Emergency Department, Outpatient Imaging, and Outpatient Surgery.
- Collect and verify patient demographic and financial information, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Identify source of payment and collect payment, interfacing with insurers and hospital staff as needed.
- Maintain current knowledge of Federal and State regulatory compliance guidelines and Joint Commission requirements.
- Collaborate with team members to promote departmental objectives and improve processes within the revenue cycle.
- High School or GED required.
- Minimum one year experience in patient access, registration, billing, cash collection, insurance, and/or pre-certification in a medical environment preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to interact with individuals of all cultures and levels of authority.
- Ability to work effectively as a member of a team and individually, with good problem-solving skills and basic computer skills.
