Position Overview

We are currently seeking a Mid-Level Systems Engineer to contribute to the advancement of the Navy's Autonomous Aircraft program. This role involves supporting the execution of Collaborative Combat Aircraft (CCA) research and development initiatives by coordinating technical activities in accordance with stakeholder expectations and established engineering standards. This position requires an active U.S. DoD Top Secret Security Clearance.
Key Responsibilities

Primary Duties:

  • Assist the Assistant Program Manager for Systems Engineering (APMSE) in providing technical guidance across programs and projects.
  • Engage with various stakeholders and represent the program in technical discussions.
  • Evaluate technical risks and propose mitigation strategies.
  • Customize engineering standards and controls to ensure effective oversight of technological initiatives.
  • Define specific tasks for Federally Funded Research and Development Centers (FFRDC) and University Affiliated Research Centers (UARC).
  • Forecast long-term capability gaps and develop technical roadmaps.
  • Collaborate with Department of Defense (DoD) Science and Technology (S&T) organizations to identify initiatives that address capability gaps.
  • Establish and monitor project technical transition criteria.
  • Provide support for modeling, simulation, and analysis.
  • Perform additional technical support tasks as assigned by the Program Lead or APMSE.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally (10-20%).
Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Possession of an active U.S. DoD Top Secret Security Clearance.

Required Experience and Skills:

  • A minimum of seven (7) years of experience in DoD research and development (R&D) procurement.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of System of Systems Engineering, including modeling, simulation, analysis, and testing.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience in coordinating operations across multiple organizations.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, schedule-constrained, and complex security environment.
