We are currently seeking a Mid-Level Systems Engineer to contribute to the execution of Collaborative Combat Aircraft (CCA) research and development initiatives. This role involves coordinating all technical activities within the program office, ensuring alignment with sponsor expectations and sound engineering methodologies. The position requires an active U.S. DoD Top Secret Security Clearance.
Key Responsibilities

Primary Duties:

  • Support the Assistant Program Manager for Systems Engineering (APMSE) by providing program-level and cross-project technical guidance.
  • Engage with various stakeholders and represent the program in technical exchange forums.
  • Evaluate technical risks and propose mitigation strategies.
  • Customize engineering standards and controls to ensure appropriate oversight of technological initiatives.
  • Define specific tasks for Federally Funded Research and Development Centers (FFRDC) and University Affiliated Research Centers (UARC).
  • Forecast long-term capability gaps and develop technical roadmaps.
  • Collaborate with Department of Defense (DoD) Science and Technology (S&T) organizations to identify initiatives that address capability gaps.
  • Establish and monitor project technical transition criteria.
  • Provide modeling, simulation, and analytical support.
  • Perform additional technical support tasks as assigned by the Program Lead or APMSE.
  • Occasional travel (10-20%) may be required for this role.
Qualifications

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Possession of an active U.S. DoD Top Secret Security Clearance.

Required Experience and Skills:

  • A minimum of seven (7) years of experience in DoD research and development (R&D) procurement.
  • Proficient understanding of System of Systems Engineering, including modeling, simulation, analysis, demonstration, testing, and S&T insertion processes.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Exemplary oral and written communication abilities.
  • Experience in coordinating operations across various organizational boundaries.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, schedule-constrained, and complex security environment.
