Structures Superintendent

The Structures Superintendent is a key member of our team, responsible for overseeing the construction of large roadway bridge projects. This role requires a strong understanding of civil utility construction and the ability to manage crews of 10 or more employees.
Responsibilities:- Pre-plans work activities with Project Manager and supervises employees in the structures department, develop best means and methods, including safety action plans.
- Reviews all contracts, project documentation and plans to ensure that the work in the field is built to the most recent specifications.
- Plans the day-to-day operations on assigned project and ensures that proper resources are in place for the timely completion of work, including labor, tools, equipment, and material.
- Takes responsibility for crew performance as it relates to company goals, safety audits, and following company policies and procedures.
- Initiates follow up action as necessary including training, orientation, discipline, etc.
- 5 years as a pipe foreman and 5 years as a superintendent in civil utility construction is required.
- Highly knowledgeable in all aspects of all underground utilities (water, storm, and sewer)
- Experience in managing crews of 10 or more employees
- Ability to read and understand project specific documents including schedules, plans and specifications.
- Ability to oversee the work of others and clearly communicate instructions to crew.
- Thorough knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the work being performed.
- Ability to understand and expertly carry out instructions.
