Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a skilled System Security Engineer to enhance our team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in the development, implementation, and maintenance of hardware and software solutions aimed at safeguarding critical mission technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Translate system-level requirements into detailed component and subsystem specifications, focusing on security control integration.
  • Identify and define security requirements that empower technical architects and systems engineers to secure both hardware and software products.
  • Maintain a comprehensive Systems Security Engineering (SSE) perspective while addressing security risks and stakeholder concerns through effective Systems Engineering practices.
  • Foster a security-centric culture that integrates security considerations from the inception of program development.
  • Engage with Chief Engineers and Program Managers to communicate the needs of the Security Engineering team and support the development process.
  • Facilitate briefings for senior leadership on program protection and security policies, guidance, and expectations.
  • Provide insights into both technical and programmatic aspects of projects to the project team and clients.
  • Ensure the effectiveness of security elements within systems as a critical enabler for mission success.
  • Design and develop comprehensive security frameworks using recognized methodologies such as Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
  • Review and recommend security policies and best practices to align with the mission acquisition lifecycle.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of Program Protection Plans (PPPs) to ensure appropriate inclusion of SSE policies.
  • Develop and execute an SSE Plan that includes Threat Countermeasure Tree Analysis.
  • Continuously learn new techniques and software independently.
  • Demonstrate strong collaborative skills within a team environment.
  • Produce clear and concise reports.
  • Utilize mathematical software tools effectively.
  • Interface with various stakeholders including Program Managers and Mission Assurance Managers.
  • Deliver presentations on security mission risks during program milestone reviews.
  • Contribute to the Mission Assurance team by selecting and documenting security requirements for diverse missions.
  • Support additional tasks related to Trusted & Assured Microelectronics (T&AM), Anti-Tamper, and Software Security Assurance.
  • Maintain a consistent and predictable work schedule.
  • Establish and nurture effective working relationships across departments and units.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience.
  • A current, active TS/SCI security clearance is mandatory.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Experience within the Department of Defense (DoD) or Intelligence Community (IC).
  • Proficiency in secure hardware integration.
  • Demonstrated experience in designing and integrating hardware security solutions.
  • Understanding of hardware design impacts on firmware and software.
  • Experience in threat analysis development.
  • A Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, information technology, or a related field.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
  • Strong attention to detail and effective communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with TEMPEST product requirements.
  • Cross-Domain Solution integration experience.
  • Familiarity with Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA).
  • Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
  • Background in Cybersecurity.
