Furniture Preparation Lead

The Furniture Preparation Lead will oversee the assembly, inventory, and hard marking of merchandise prior to delivery. This role will also coordinate with the Furniture Repair department to ensure all merchandise is repaired and ready for delivery. The Furniture Prep Lead will work closely with the Furniture Prep Technicians, Customer Service, and Delivery Services to process and complete merchandise added to or canceled from delivery routes.
Key Responsibilities- Coach Furniture Preparation Technicians to assemble merchandise correctly and efficiently
- Coordinate with Furniture Repair department to ensure merchandise is repaired and ready for delivery
- Work with Furniture Prep Technicians, Customer Service, and Delivery Services to process and complete merchandise
- Inspect merchandise to ensure it is properly assembled and inventoried
- Ensure delivery door sheets are filled out and turned in
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors
- Ability to learn and apply new technologies, including Dispatch Tracking, Storis, and iPads
- Positive attitude with strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively with multiple departments to improve processes and maximize efficiency
- Commitment to AFW's safety policies and procedures
- Ability to operate a radio frequency (RF) scanner
- Ability to maneuver in confined and congested areas
- Ability to stand, walk, stoop, and bend for 8 hours or more daily
- Ability to inspect merchandise, which may require lifting, lowering, pushing, and pulling up to 100 lbs.
