Role Summary
The Senior Financial Operations Manager is accountable for ensuring the overall financial accuracy and integrity of the organization. This role encompasses the oversight of the business unit's balance sheet and profit and loss statements.

This position is a vital part of the Finance Leadership Team, collaborating closely with senior executives to manage various business units' core competencies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise balance sheet and income statement accounts, general ledgers, cost centers, and reporting systems to ensure compliance with policies and accounting standards.
  • Oversee the month-end closing process, ensuring the completeness and accuracy of journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Collaborate with the executive team and control process owners to enhance the control environment continually.
  • Work alongside external auditors and local finance management to facilitate timely audit completion.
  • Manage the monthly financial reporting for Managed Care entities, coordinating with finance teams across business units.
  • Lead and develop a team of financial professionals, focusing on hiring, retention, performance management, and employee development.
  • Provide analytical support and project management for finance-related activities and special projects.
  • Contribute to the forecasting and budgeting processes for Managed Care business units, including cost allocation.
  • Influence and collaborate in a cross-functional environment, ensuring strong teamwork and business acumen.
  • Monitor internal controls and recommend improvements as necessary, while managing financial forecasting and budget submissions.
  • Streamline accounting functions in collaboration with financial operations to enhance efficiency and meet deadlines.
  • Maintain a detailed focus on financial activities, ensuring quality and educating leaders on budget responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in finance, particularly within healthcare, provider, TPA, health plan, or medical device sectors.
  • Ability to balance hands-on tactical work with strategic initiatives in a start-up environment.
  • Proven capability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams towards achieving strategic objectives.
  • Strong emotional intelligence to manage diverse teams and maintain focus on goals.
  • High initiative and adaptability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced setting.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the US Managed Care Market and the role of Third-Party Administrators.
  • Expertise in Excel and financial modeling.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

Education
A four-year degree in Finance or Accounting is required; CPA and Master's degree in Finance are preferred.
