The Department of Pharmaceutical Services at the University of California San Francisco provides a comprehensive range of services for patients, including drug procurement, storage, and security, as well as clinical pharmacy services, drug information, and technology assessment. As a Staff Pharmacist II, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and effective use of medications for patients.
Key Responsibilities- Obtain medication histories and review medication profiles to ensure patient safety
- Provide drug information to patients and healthcare providers, and consult with prescribers to recommend optimal medication regimens
- Counsel patients on proper medication use, including cautions, adverse reactions, and interactions
- Supervise pharmacy technicians to secure insurance authorizations and prepare and dispense prescription medications
- Oversee the Patient Management Program, clinical activities, and delivery of services
- Doctor of Pharmacy degree (PharmD) or equivalent degree from an accredited school of pharmacy
- 2 years of experience as a pharmacist in hospitals or healthcare settings, or equivalent combination of experience and education
- Current license in good standing to practice pharmacy in the State of California
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
