The Department of Pharmaceutical Services at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) provides a comprehensive range of services for patients cared for by the Medical Center. These services include drug procurement, storage, and security; safe, accurate, and timely preparation and distribution of drugs; clinical pharmacy services for patients; development of drug use policies; drug information services; and participation in technology assessment and quality assurance programs.
Job Responsibilities- Obtain medication histories and review medication profiles
- Provide drug information to patients and healthcare providers
- Consult with prescribers and recommend drugs of choice
- Counsel patients on proper medication use and ensure understanding of cautions, adverse reactions, and interactions
- Supervise pharmacy technicians to secure insurance authorizations and prepare/dispense prescription medications
- Doctor of Pharmacy degree (PharmD) or equivalent degree
- 2 years of experience as a Pharmacist in hospitals or healthcare
- Current license in good standing to practice pharmacy in California
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
