Position Summary
The Culinary Line Cook plays a crucial role in ensuring that food is prepared efficiently and safely, adhering to established recipes and guest preferences to deliver high-quality dishes.
Key Responsibilities
The Culinary Line Cook must possess a solid understanding of food preparation methods and be capable of producing both hot and cold dishes according to precise recipes that meet high standards. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, managing food products from their raw state through cooking and preparation to final presentation for service or display. The Culinary Line Cook is also tasked with upholding food safety and sanitation protocols to guarantee that all food handling complies with local health regulations and Craft Culinary Concepts policies. This encompasses the proper use of cooking tools and equipment, as well as the storage, labeling, and dating of food items, ensuring that work areas are clean and sanitized.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must possess a valid County Food Handler Card on file with Craft Culinary Concepts for each shift worked
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations relevant to recipes
- Must be able to comprehend and execute specific recipe instructions
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Completion of all pre-employment documentation, successful background check, and math assessment involving all US monetary units is mandatory
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment as well as independently
- Capability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure setting
Additional Skills/Attributes
- Preferred current ServSafe Certification
- Preferred 2+ years of experience in a high-volume kitchen environment
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and remain on feet for extended periods
- Willingness to work non-traditional hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to adapt to extreme temperature variations and work in noisy conditions
