Position Overview:

The Patient Care Coordinator I is responsible for delivering patient services tailored to the specific needs of diverse age groups while supporting the management of patient care within a medical office environment under the direct oversight of a healthcare provider.


Essential Qualifications:

  • Must possess current certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) from recognized organizations such as the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), National Healthcare Association (NHA), or National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT); or as a Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) through the American Medical Technologists (AMT); or as a Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA) via the National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP); or hold certification as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT).

Important Note:

Medical assistants with at least one (1) to two (2) years of relevant experience, holding a certification from a different certifying body, or those without certification, must agree to register with an accepted agency for Medical Assistant Certification and arrange a testing date within six months of employment. Certification must be obtained and submitted to Human Resources within one year of hire.


  • Basic Life Support/CPR certification is required; or must be acquired within thirty (30) days of employment or transfer.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • One (1) year of clinical experience in an outpatient medical practice is preferred.
  • Experience with electronic health record systems and practice management software is advantageous.
  • Ability to demonstrate initiative and self-direction is preferred.
  • Proficiency in electronic health records and practice management software, along with expertise in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint), is desirable.
