Position Overview:

Civil Engineer/Project Manager

Job Summary: Huitt-Zollars, Inc. is seeking a full-time Civil Engineer/Project Manager for our Dallas office. The ideal candidate will possess 8-10 years of relevant experience and hold a Professional Engineer license in Texas. This role requires expertise in managing and designing a diverse array of land development and public works projects, catering to various sectors including industrial, commercial, and residential developments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead civil engineering projects from inception to completion.
  • Conduct preliminary engineering assessments and reports.
  • Investigate jurisdictional requirements to ensure compliance in design and construction documentation.
  • Develop proposals, contracts, and detailed project work plans.
  • Create design and construction drawings utilizing AutoCAD and research findings.
  • Oversee client relations and marketing initiatives for prospective projects.
  • Generate GIS exhibits using ArcGIS.
  • Perform site evaluations and document observations.
  • Collaborate directly with clients while managing a diverse team of professionals.
  • Document meeting minutes and assist with project correspondence.
  • Prepare visual materials for presentations and documentation.
  • Lead a team of engineers and drafters effectively.
  • Initiate and conduct high-level design discussions with clients, including monthly forecasting and cost estimates.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE).
  • Licensed PE in Texas with a minimum of 8-10 years of experience.
  • Proven experience in producing comprehensive construction plans and reports.
  • Ability to work autonomously in a collaborative environment while managing multiple projects.
  • Strong client interaction skills and the ability to lead a varied team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, conveying engineering concepts clearly.
  • Capability to mentor staff and ensure quality assurance in their work.
  • Demonstrated leadership and management capabilities, with a proactive approach to meeting deadlines and resolving complex issues.
  • Familiarity with MicroStation, AutoCAD, and Civil3D is advantageous.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with a willingness to take on additional responsibilities.
  • Consistent proactive communication with clients, addressing issues promptly.
  • Ability to cultivate strong client relationships for effective communication and problem-solving.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting and recommending effective solutions for stakeholders.
