Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Civil Engineer Project Manager to join our team at Owen Thomas Group. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the execution of municipal water and wastewater projects in Texas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the design and construction of complex wastewater treatment and infrastructure projects, including budgeting, scheduling, contract management, and quality control.
  • Perform civil engineering work in water and wastewater treatment facilities and conveyance infrastructure, focusing on site design project components, including site layout, yard piping, roadways, paving, and grading, and stormwater infrastructure.
  • Conduct engineering planning and design projects, and perform conceptual and preliminary design activities, including site visits, overseeing fieldwork, alternatives analysis, and report preparation.
  • Develop civil engineering plans and specifications, and prepare cost estimates for various water and wastewater projects.
  • Prepare technical memoranda, reports, and electronic deliverables, and review contractor submittals for conformance with contract plans and specifications.
  • Participate in field activities, such as pilot testing, permitting, and alternative analysis, and assist project managers with permitting submittals for treatment facilities and infrastructure projects.
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure successful project execution and delivery.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
  • 6 to 12 years of directly-relevant experience in civil engineering.
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer.
  • Application of engineering principles, including critical thinking, analysis, and innovative techniques.
  • Experience with local utility codes and utility permitting process, and ability to review plans and specifications against local codes.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, and ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Highly motivated, articulate, and self-starting, with proficiency in MS Word and Excel.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D to develop engineering drawings.
  • Experience with Geographical Information System (GIS).
  • Experience with ICPR4 and SWMM.
