Shareholder Relations Specialist

At American Crystal Sugar, we are seeking a highly skilled Shareholder Relations Specialist to join our team. This role is responsible for coordinating stock transfer processes, maintaining accurate shareholder records, and ensuring the timely payment of beet payments to our valued shareholders.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and promote a positive work culture through our Company Values of Safety, Integrity, Quality, Teamwork, and Accountability.
  • Maintain accurate information and accounting of beet payments, grower reports, stock transfers, and equity accounting for all American Crystal shareholders.
  • Assist and serve as backup to the Shareholder Compliance Analyst.
  • Prepare journal entries for beet payments issued and collection of various shareholder accounts receivables.
  • Accurately apply shareholder payments received, reconcile balances, and maintain shareholder accounts receivables accordingly.
  • Initiate, review, prepare, and record various Shareholder payments.
  • Reissue all lost beet payment and unit retain checks for shareholders.
  • Gather, generate, and maintain confidential information from multiple sources, organize, and combine for transactions of sensitive nature.
  • Create, maintain, and assist with equity transfer application forms and equity reports for Board of Director consideration.
  • Initiate stock transfer applications, scrutinize transferees for ownership, Active Farmer compliance, and determine when additional requirements/forms are needed.
  • Initiate and respond to meetings with growers and/or brokers in person, through the mail, email, or phone calls.
  • Review and update shareholder information and voter registration, ensuring confidentiality and all applicable requirements are met.
  • Maintain Political Action Committee deductions and contributions from shareholders, ensuring compliance with SEC.
  • Maintain deferred payment contracts.
  • Execute UCC Agreements to maintain an accurate and current file on shares pledged to secured parties by American Crystal shareholders.
  • Distribute annual "Report of Uncertificated Shares and Equity" for current and former American Crystal shareholders with share ownership, equity balances, pledge summary, and calendar year transactions.
  • Assist in preparation of 1099-PATR's and Written Notice of Allocation for DPAD/Section 199A deductions to shareholders.

This role will interact with all shareholders, providing top-notch customer service through respectfully answering their calls, providing accurate and timely responses, and meeting with them in a professional manner. Responsible for coordinating information from several sources in preparation of stock transfer applications and ensuring the accuracy of beet payments. Coordinates workload to meet deadlines and performs daily activities with minimal supervision and consultation with supervisor.
