The Electrical Systems Specialist will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical equipment and systems at American Greetings. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical principles and the ability to work with various types of electrical equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical portions of plant equipment.
- Install or repair electrical equipment such as generators, transformers, switchboards, breaker boxes, circuit breakers, controllers, motors, heating units, conduit systems, lights, and ballasts.
- Work from blueprints, drawings, wire diagrams, schematics, or other specifications to complete assigned duties.
- Locate, diagnose, and repair malfunctions in the electrical systems of equipment.
- Use a variety of electronics, hand tools, measuring equipment, and testing equipment to perform job duties.
- Perform standard computations relating to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment.
- Order replacement parts or materials as necessary from information obtained from parts manuals, blueprints, and/or maintenance supply catalogs.
- Ensure that all work is in accordance with relevant National Electrical Codes.
- Minimum of 2 years of electronic troubleshooting experience.
- Formal training in the repair of electronic equipment is preferred.
- Proficiency in blueprint reading, use of wiring diagrams and schematics, use of instructions and parts manuals, and shop math.
- Ability to determine causes of operating errors and decide what to do to correct them.
