Join Our Team as an After School Program Coordinator
We are seeking a dedicated individual to oversee our after school program, Dolphin Station, designed for students in kindergarten through fifth grade. As the Program Coordinator, you will be responsible for crafting engaging weekly activities that foster a fun and secure environment for all participants.
Key Responsibilities:
- Attend required training sessions to enhance your skills.
- Design and implement weekly lesson plans and activities tailored for elementary-aged children.
- Conduct daily attendance checks to ensure participant safety.
- Maintain accurate records of participants' medical information and allergies.
- Administer medications as needed, adhering to established procedures.
- Supervise participants as they transition between various program areas.
- Ensure proper sign-in and sign-out procedures are followed by parents or guardians.
- Arrive punctually to maintain program consistency.
- Communicate effectively with parents and staff to provide updates and address concerns.
- Organize and prepare activity areas before and after each session.
- Engage actively in all program activities alongside staff and participants.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Recreation Manager or other supervisory staff.
- Oversee daily operations to ensure smooth functioning of the program.
- Prioritize the safety and satisfaction of all program participants.
- Ensure that all equipment and supplies are well-maintained and organized.
- Manage inventory of snacks and replenish as necessary.
- Guide Site Leaders and participants throughout the program.
- Administer the program in alignment with budgetary guidelines and policies.
- Keep accurate records related to attendance, emergency contacts, and medical forms.
- Collaborate with the school district on relevant program details.
- Evaluate program effectiveness and communicate insights to supervisors.
Qualifications:
- A college degree or a minimum of three years of experience working with elementary-aged children.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- CPR/AED and First Aid certification required.
- Possession of a valid Illinois Driver's License (Class D).
- Ability to complete Mandated Reporter training within 30 days of hire.
