Leidos National Security Sector is on the lookout for an Application Software Engineer to contribute to a large-scale enterprise IT initiative for a client in the Intelligence Community.

This hybrid role blends development and engineering, focusing on modernizing an outdated solution with innovative technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

In this position, you will:

- Collaborate within a team that designs, develops, tests, integrates, and deploys solutions for critical needs.

- Develop new solutions to replace the current end-of-life system, utilizing advanced technologies to meet user demands.

- Aim to design and deliver an enterprise-level system with a modular architecture that accommodates both large and small-scale solutions for a variety of use cases.

- Engage in full lifecycle IT activities to achieve the objectives of designing, developing, testing, integrating, and deploying solutions.


This may involve:


- Creating interfaces and Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) for Commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) products, focusing on cloud and big data technologies, and developing stateless implementations in cloud service environments.

- Integrating with configuration management and data repositories (such as GIT and GITHUB).

- Developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and possessing knowledge of Active Directory (AD) and other client-specific access interfaces for credential management.

- Collaborating with multiple COTS vendors to integrate products across various Linux and Windows environments.
- Maintaining a rigorous versioning system that ensures reproducibility through training and validation.
- Establishing a DevOps environment and utilizing tools such as Jenkins, Kubernetes, Chef, and Terraform.

- Conducting software testing using unit tests and/or automated testing tools like Angular and Selenium, coordinating with partner teams as necessary.

- Adhering to client-specific security protocols and preparing program and user-level documentation.

- Supporting the creation of security documentation for software environment setup and collaborating with technical team leads to understand current systems and specifications.

- Leveraging experience to suggest improvements for efficient development processes.
- Communicating and sharing expertise across organizational boundaries.
- Working independently and within small teams.
- Applying current best practices in software development, including iterative project management techniques and agile methodologies.

Required Security Clearance:
Active TS/SCI with Polygraph and the capability to undergo additional security screening as deemed necessary.

Required Experience, Skills, and Education:
- Bachelor's degree with 12+ years of experience or a Master's degree with 10+ years of experience. Additional experience may substitute for a degree.
- Proven experience with tools related to cloud services.
- Demonstrated ability to establish stateless implementations from cloud service architectures.
- Experience with configuration management and data repositories.
- Familiarity with COTS products in Linux and Windows environments.
- Proficiency in using DevOps tools such as Jenkins, Kubernetes, Chef, and Terraform.
- Experience with React, CentOS, Debian, and Postgres.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with MySQL, Python, Bash, JavaScript, UI development, and Node JS.

Compensation:
Pay Range: $122,000 - $220,900.00
