Job Title: Senior Mechanical Engineer - UCE

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Utilities and Central Energy (UCE) group. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in the successful execution of projects, providing technical and engineering excellence, as well as successful delivery of work to our customers.

About the Role:

The Senior Mechanical Engineer - UCE will be responsible for:

  • Preparing engineering documents and equipment specifications to meet contracted scope of work and to ensure code compliance.
  • Performing engineering calculations.
  • Approving final utilities systems/equipment selections and drawing submittals.
  • Leading utilities systems/equipment procurement efforts.
  • Managing projects and teams, ensuring that work efforts and costs are accurately scoped and estimated.
  • Actively managing assigned projects, driving them to completion.
  • Providing technical and engineering support to other departments/disciplines.
  • Representing KFI at conferences, customer events, and through membership in industry associations.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 10+ years of professional engineering experience.
  • A pragmatic and applied approach, while at the same time fostering a creative examination of customer needs and solutions.
  • Demonstrated strong proficiency in utilities generation and distribution systems design.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to enable effective interaction with Designers, Engineers, and sub-consultants.
  • Project management skills and knowledge of related tools and processes.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills.
  • Maturity and self-confidence to work with colleagues and customers.
  • Ability to collaborate with others.
  • Ability to assimilate a range of ideas, programs, or alternatives into a set of recommendations.
  • Self-directed and thrives in an environment where consultation leads to superior outcomes.
  • Effective meeting management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Proficient writing skills and experience generating technical reports.
  • Experience developing campus utilities masterplans.
  • Cost estimating skills.
  • Adaptable and agile, responsive to quick changes in direction.
  • Ability to establish rapport and credibility with customers and other stakeholders.
