Position Overview:

This role is hybrid, requiring in-person attendance three days a week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in managing the fiscal, budgetary, and accounting functions.
  • Plan, organize, and coordinate the development and execution of financial operations, processes, policies, and procedures.
  • Support the formulation of the annual budget and analyze statewide expenditure data.
  • Conduct monthly expense analyses for programs/projects and review financial expenditures and budgets.
  • Facilitate executive decision-making by presenting financial insights on projects to senior leadership.
  • Possess a strong understanding of budgeting and accounting principles, with the ability to analyze intricate business challenges and propose effective solutions.
  • Engage in the development and upkeep of performance metrics and targets to enhance financial accountability and identify areas for improvement.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to both internal teams and external clients, showcasing comprehensive analytical skills (Excel, MS Word), effective communication, self-motivation, and initiative.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5 Years - Significant experience with computer software applications, particularly Microsoft 365, including advanced Excel functionalities.
  • 5 Years - Proven expertise in financial analysis and forecasting.
  • 5 Years - Experience in providing customer service to diverse audiences, including professionals, vendors, and executive staff.
  • 5 Years - General understanding of accounting practices and financial management.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3 Years - Experience in developing performance metrics and methods to enhance financial accountability.
  • 1 Year - Familiarity with Commonwealth of VA financial systems.
  • 1 Year - Experience with the Cardinal financial system.

This opportunity is available on a corp-to-corp basis or as a W2 position, accompanied by a competitive benefits package.
