- The Clinical Exercise Specialist is responsible for delivering patient care services. This role involves supporting the daily clinical functions of Cardiac Rehabilitation, specifically in Phases II and III.
- ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Physiology or Exercise Science.
Experience: Not applicable.
Licensure/Certification: Must obtain certification as a Certified Exercise Physiologist from the American College of Sports Medicine within 18 months of employment. ACLS Certification is required upon hire. BLS Certification is necessary, with a designation of either BLS Provider or Healthcare Provider from recognized organizations.
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Physiology or Exercise Science.
- PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: Master’s Degree in Exercise Physiology.
Experience: At least one year of recent experience as an Exercise Physiologist in a clinical cardiology or cardiac rehabilitation environment.
Licensure/Certification: Certification as a Certified Exercise Physiologist from the American College of Sports Medicine at the time of hire.

- SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
- Proficient understanding of exercise principles, utilization of exercise equipment, and the formulation of exercise prescriptions. Strong communication abilities are essential.
- READING - Intermediate: Capable of interpreting documents such as operating and maintenance instructions and procedural manuals.
- WRITING - Intermediate: Able to compose routine reports, correspondence, or procedural documentation.
- SPEAKING - Intermediate: Competent in effectively presenting information in individual or small group settings, as well as before larger audiences.
- MATHEMATICAL SKILLS - Intermediate: Proficient in basic arithmetic operations and capable of calculating figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, and percentages.
- REASONING ABILITY - Advanced: Skilled in problem-solving, data collection, and drawing valid conclusions from various data sets.
- AGE-SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES - Knowledgeable in growth and development, providing appropriate care based on the age of patients in a clinical setting.
