Exercise Physiologist

The Exercise Physiologist provides patient services and assists with day-to-day clinical operations of Cardiac Rehabilitation, Phases II and III. This role requires a strong understanding of exercise principles, equipment, and prescription development.
Minimum Qualifications- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Physiology or Exercise Science
- Experience: N/A
- Licensure/Certification/Registration: Certification as a Certified Exercise Physiologist by the American College of Sports Medicine required within 18 months from date of hire in position. ACLS Certification upon hire. BLS Certification with a designation of either BLS Provider or Healthcare Provider from either the American Heart Association or American Red Cross or Military Training Network.
- Education: Master's Degree in Exercise Physiology
- Experience: One (1) year recent Exercise Physiologist work experience in a hospital/clinic cardiology or cardiac rehabilitation setting
- Licensure/Certification/Registration: Certification as a Certified Exercise Physiologist by the American College of Sports Medicine upon hire
- Demonstrated knowledge: Principles of exercise, use of exercise equipment, and development of an exercise prescription
- Communication skills: Effective communication with patients, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals
- Reading: Intermediate level: Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
- Writing: Intermediate level: Ability to write routine reports, correspondence, or procedures
- Speaking: Intermediate level: Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one, small group situations or before groups of customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
- Mathematical skills: Intermediate level: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals and to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
- Reasoning ability: Advanced level: Ability to define and solve problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and deal with a variety of concrete and abstract variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Age-specific competencies: Skilled at assessment and knowledgeable of growth and development. Provides appropriate care respective to the ages of the patients served per clinical environment.
- Physical demands: Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to fifty (50) pounds. Can stoop, bend, and crawl. Close vision and color vision.
- Stand: Continuously over 2 hours
- Walk: Continuously over 2 hours
- Sit: Frequently 1/3 to 2 hours
- Use hands to finger, handle, or feel: Continuously over 2 hours
- Reach with hands and arms: Continuously over 2 hours
