Job Summary

The Unscheduled Anesthesia Care Specialist at St. Luke's corporation is responsible for providing high-quality anesthesia care to patients in a variety of settings. This role requires strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and monitor patients pre-, intra-, and post-procedure to ensure safe and effective anesthesia care.
  • Collaborate with physicians, CRNAs, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized anesthesia plans.
  • Provide education and support to patients and families to promote informed decision-making and optimal care.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient safety and satisfaction.

Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited registered nursing program and a graduate of an AANA-accredited program for Nurse Anesthetist.
  • One year of experience in anesthesia care.
  • Current license in Minnesota to practice as a Registered Nurse; must complete and pass a qualifying examination/certification as CRNA prior to date of hire.
  • BLS Certification with a designation of either BLS Provider or Healthcare Provider from either the American Heart Association or American Red Cross or Military Training Network.
  • ACLS and PALS certifications upon hire.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledgeable in anesthesia machines; work well with Physicians, CRNAs, Surgery and PACU personnel and other Hospital departments.
  • Ability to communicate orally and written.
  • Maintain good physical and mental health; maintain professional quality and appearance; punctuality.
  • Assign work load to CRNAs; trouble shoot equipment problems; order equipment and supplies as needed; assist with policies/procedures, budget, etc.; attend meetings as necessary.
