Job Overview

The Electronics Assembly Technician will be tasked with executing a diverse range of assembly operations involving electronic, electro-mechanical, mechanical, or measurement products. This role is crucial for the production of ADTRAN's innovative products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Identify and adhere to methods and sequences for component installation and assembly unit fitting.
  • Assemble components, circuit boards, and enclosures using diagrams, photographs, and written guidelines.
  • Conduct tests on circuit boards to verify their operational functionality.
  • Handle semi-routine tasks while recognizing and addressing deviations from standard practices.
  • Follow general instructions for routine tasks and detailed guidelines for new projects.
  • Inspect products to ensure compliance with Q50 and IPC-A-610 quality standards.
  • Propose modifications to processes, parts, and assembly instructions based on operational needs.
  • May assist in other areas as production demands dictate.
  • Participate in additional projects and tasks as required to meet departmental and company needs.
Essential Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
    • Relevant experience may substitute for educational requirements.
  • 2-5 years of relevant experience in a similar role.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to operate a manual pallet jack regularly.
  • Consistent and reliable attendance is expected.
  • Capability to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
  • No travel is anticipated for this position.
  • Work schedule: 1st Shift, Monday-Thursday, 6:00am-4:30pm.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software.
Physical and Mental Requirements:
  • Regularly engage in physical activities requiring extensive use of arms, legs, and full-body movement.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged periods, lift up to 35 pounds unassisted, and lift heavier materials with assistance. Manual dexterity is essential for precise assembly tasks.
  • Frequent reaching and extending with hands and arms while using tools and equipment is necessary.
  • Occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, and crouching may be required.
  • Ability to see and interpret instructions, safety warnings, and color codes, as well as hear alarms and communicate effectively in English.
  • Exposure to solder fumes may occur; protective equipment will be provided by the company as needed.
