Job Summary

The Senior Philanthropy Officer is a key member of the Phoenix Children's development team, responsible for securing individual gifts with an emphasis on $100,000 and above. This role involves building long-term donor partnerships and demonstrating the impact of philanthropic support on the organization's mission.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to cultivate and steward midlevel donors, with a focus on securing gifts of $100,000 and above.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with midlevel donors, identifying and qualifying new prospects to expand the pipeline of potential donors.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the foundation to achieve annual metrics and financial goals, ensuring effective midlevel donor management and strategic gift planning.
  • Provide technical guidance and options to fundraising colleagues, supporting their efforts in securing planned gifts from midlevel donors.
  • Stay up-to-date on gift planning trends, opportunities, and related legislation, sharing knowledge with colleagues to contribute to the foundation's knowledge base.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field (required); Master's degree in business or related field (preferred).
  • 10 or more years of combined experience in fundraising, sales, stewardship, and/or communications (required).
  • Demonstrated success in prospect identification and relationship development and/or new business development (required).
  • Proven major gift or equivalent large sales process experience (required).
  • Experience with Raiser's Edge/Salesforce or similar industry-based customer relationship management tools (preferred).
  • Hospital or healthcare experience (preferred).
  • Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) Certification (preferred).

  • Goal-oriented with a high level of maturity and personal integrity.
  • Ability to multi-task with keen attention to detail.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office software and CRM database.
  • Ability to maintain a flexible schedule to accommodate occasional night and weekend activities.
