Manager of Individual Philanthropy
As the primary philanthropic partner of Grand Canyon National Park, Grand Canyon Conservancy is dedicated to fostering a legacy of stewardship and support for the natural and cultural treasures of the Grand Canyon.
GCC is committed to generating private contributions, managing retail operations within the park, and delivering exceptional educational initiatives that highlight the region's rich natural and cultural heritage.
We are in search of a Manager of Individual Philanthropy who will oversee a portfolio of potential donors, implementing strategies for identifying, nurturing, and soliciting contributions of $10,000 or more, while also expanding the Grand Guardians program aimed at donors contributing between $1,000 and $20,000.
This role requires independent operation alongside collaboration with GCC's Philanthropy Operations Team, playing a vital part in discovering and qualifying new prospects, actively engaging and retaining current donors, and ensuring the attainment of defined fundraising objectives.
The Manager of Individual Philanthropy is a remote, full-time, exempt position that offers benefits and reports directly to the Senior Philanthropy Officer for Individual Giving.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Effectively manages, solicits, cultivates, and expands a portfolio of individual donors capable of making significant contributions while developing strategies for engagement, solicitation, and retention to enhance the Grand Guardians Program.
Collaborate with colleagues to engage mid-level donors, ensuring a steady flow of major gift prospects.
Maximize fundraising potential in the area through effective networking and engaging activities.
Work with team members to maintain accurate and confidential donor information.
Conduct donor discovery, cultivation, and solicitation meetings with prospects and donors, aiming for 10-12 meaningful interactions each month.
Collaborate closely with the philanthropy team to align GCC's priorities and engage donors and prospects through outreach and activities.
Respond promptly to donor inquiries through various communication methods including written correspondence, phone calls, personal visits, and email.
Plan and coordinate donor events to identify new prospects and nurture existing relationships with support from the Philanthropy and Event teams.
Foster a growth mindset and contribute to a culture of philanthropy.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's Degree or substantial professional experience in a relevant field.
Three to five years of direct fundraising experience or experience in building meaningful relationships with individuals.
Valid driver's license with the ability to travel approximately 30% to 40% of the time for strategic meetings and events.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND ATTRIBUTES
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team of passionate individuals focused on engaging donors, prospects, and partners in our mission.
Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding donor and management information.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Teams, SharePoint, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook. Experience with Raiser's Edge NXT is a plus.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Approximately 60% to 70% of job responsibilities will be performed in an office setting, utilizing a computer and collaborating with colleagues.
Ability to travel independently approximately 30% to 40% of the time.
May occasionally require working beyond 40 hours per week or on weekends and holidays to meet critical deadlines and attend special events.

TOTAL COMPENSATION
GCC offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes vacation and holiday pay, sick leave, Canyon Experience Days, an employer-supplemented health benefits package (medical, dental, vision, and health savings account), employer-paid long-term disability and life insurance, an employer-paid 401(k) retirement plan, and discounts in our retail stores and Grand Canyon Conservancy Field Institute offerings.
The hiring salary range for this position is $74,000 to $78,000 annually.Grand Canyon Conservancy serves as the official nonprofit partner of Grand Canyon National Park.
