Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Store Manager to join our team at The Salvation Army's Point Loma Thrift Store. As a key member of our retail team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, managing store operations, and leading a team of sales associates.
Key Responsibilities- Assist the Store Manager in the day-to-day operation of the store, including managing sales floor, stockroom, and customer service areas.
- Provide coaching, training, and development to sales associates to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in their roles.
- Ensure customer needs are met by maintaining good customer relations, resolving complaints, and providing quick and efficient service.
- Communicate with management and HR to address personnel issues, including disciplinary actions and employee evaluations.
- Maintain a safe and secure store environment, including ensuring adequate inventory levels, implementing loss prevention measures, and adhering to ARC policies and regulations.
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum 2 years of retail management or supervisory experience.
- Ability to accurately handle POS and cash transactions.
- Valid driver's license and proof of insurance required.
- Pass a background check, including criminal history and sex offender registry.
- Ability to communicate effectively with management, sales associates, customers, and donors.
- Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis.
- Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, clothing carts, merchandise carts, and fixtures.
- Ability to move product up to 50lbs.
- Ability to perform various repetitive motion tasks.
