Job Summary:

Nicholas Development LLC is seeking a skilled Building Engineer to oversee the day-to-day operation and maintenance of building equipment at our facilities. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of various systems, including WSHP, boilers, chillers, energy management systems, fire life safety systems, and power distribution systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate, maintain, and conduct daily visual safety inspections of building equipment to ensure optimal performance and prevent potential issues.
  • Keep a detailed log of equipment incidents and status changes to facilitate prompt resolution and maintenance planning.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and make necessary adjustments to equipment to minimize downtime and extend its lifespan.
  • Respond to alarms and assist in resolving incidents promptly to maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Place orders to support plant operations and mechanical/electrical systems, ensuring timely delivery and installation.
  • Operate building EMS systems and respond efficiently to alarms to minimize disruptions and ensure business continuity.
  • Report faults, deficiencies, and anomalies to the Chief Engineer for prompt attention and resolution.
  • Conduct minor mechanical repairs as needed to maintain equipment and prevent more extensive damage.
  • Assist in emergency situations, such as flooding and snow removal, to ensure the safety of personnel and property.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support the team and achieve business objectives.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of building maintenance experience, with at least 2 years in mechanical plant operations and boiler/chiller maintenance/operation.
  • Relevant technical schooling can be substituted for one year of experience.
  • Familiarity with building automation systems is a plus.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to follow instructions.
  • Proficient in basic arithmetic calculations.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively.
