Support Specialist for Individuals with Disabilities

About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Direct Support Professional to join our team at All Ways Caring. As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a vital role in providing direct care and support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Personal Care and Hygiene: Assist with daily living tasks, including bathing, dressing, and grooming, as well as managing medical needs and administering medications.
- Relationship Building: Foster positive relationships between individuals served and their support networks, promoting social interaction and community involvement.
- Safety and Environment: Ensure a safe and healthy environment for individuals served, including maintaining a clean and organized living space.
- Behavior Support: Implement Individual Service Plans and Behavior Support Plans to address behavioral needs and promote positive outcomes.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of services provided, including daily documentation of activities, behavior support plans, and medication administration.
- Transportation and Errands: Transport individuals to and from community activities, medical appointments, and other destinations as needed.
- Household Management: Perform light housekeeping, laundry, and meal preparation duties to maintain a comfortable and welcoming living environment.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities preferred.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and perform physical tasks as needed.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
