Job Title: Instrumentation and Calibration Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Instrumentation and Calibration Specialist to join our team at Ever-Green Energy Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical expertise in the design, development, and maintenance of our metering systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform technical investigations, evaluations, and designs for our metering systems, ensuring accurate measurement of customer energy use.
  • Manage metering systems, including the use of wireless and fiber optic technology, and oversee construction, modification, testing, and repair of system components.
  • Provide scheduling and budget control for construction, maintenance, and repair projects, ensuring minimal disruption to customers and metering accuracy.
  • Create and maintain computerized metering system maintenance and records, perform calibrations and preventative maintenance on metering systems, and monitor and transmit customer usage data accurately for use in billing and customer service.

Requirements:

  • Completion of a two-year post-secondary program covering relevant technical topics and three years of experience in various instrumentation and communication technologies, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Written communication skills, contractor supervision experience, and other exposure to areas related to construction management.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with contractors, municipal authorities, and customers relative to contracts and utility service requirements.
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • Ability to read technical drawings and diagrams.
  • Must have a valid Minnesota driver's license and maintain a good driving record.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Course work in building HVAC, operations, and maintenance.
  • Course work or equivalent experience in project management.
  • Ongoing continuing education of software, metering, and other technologies necessary to maintain systems.
  • Experience in budgeting, cost control, records, and report management.
  • Working knowledge of Maximo or demonstrated applicable skills in a CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Program).
  • Working knowledge of metering systems, wireless, and fiber optic technologies.
  • Possess the aptitude for problem-solving; ability to manage concurrent projects with a high degree of independence and self-initiation.
  • Strong oral and written communications; and ability to work effectively with a wide variety of people.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing job situations, ability to work with people from all levels within and outside of the company.
  • Broad technical knowledge concerning the design and operation of district heating and cooling systems.
  • Working knowledge of IP (Internet Protocol) networks.

The employee is frequently required to climb ramps/stairs; and climbing ladders/ropes/scaffolding;

The employee is occasionally required to use a respirator, and crawling.
